Punjab is famous for its harvesting, greenery, unique traditional, delicious food also for their lovely people. State capital Chandigarh is a union territory and serves as the capital of the state of Punjab and Haryana. It is one of the early planned cities in post-Independence India.
This north-western state is home to the Punjab community. Approximately 75% of the total Sikh population of the world lives in Punjab. The name of Punjab is made of two-word Punj(five)+Aab (Water) these rivers of Punjab are Sutlej, Beas, Ravi, Chenab, and Jhelum the Punjab state is divided into three regions: – Majha, Doaba, and Mulwa. Here most people worked in the field. Punjab is considered to have the best infrastructure in India.
Maharaja Ranjit Shing was the first king of Punjab. (13 November 1780 – 27 June 1839) also known as the “Lion of Punjab” he was the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire. Bathinda is located in the heart of Punjab. Most of the people live in a fertile, alluvial plain with many rivers and system an extensive irrigation Canal System. Punjab is also called the “Granary of India” and “Indian’s breadbasket.
The region is ideal for wheat-growing, Rice, Sugar Cane, Fruits, and different types of vegetables.

The state tree is Sheesham it is also known by various other names like Indian rosewood, sisu, etc. The tree is normally found growing near the river. It is used especially for Shelter and Shade.
The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre
The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre in Amritsar (Punjab) is also known as the Amritsar Massacre Jallianwala Bagh Massacre incident on 3 April 1939. Creed or race Can seek spiritual Solace and religious fulfilment without any hindrance. It is also representing the distinct identity, glory, and heritage of the Sikhs.
The golden temple looks like Such a heaven View of this temple is so amazing that you can’t describe it in a single word. The brilliant architecture of the temple gives it a unique look. The Gurudwara is built around a man-made Pool called (Amrit Sarovar) that was completed by the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das in 1577 Furth more, one of the most noteworthy features of this temple is its golden colour just mesmerizes anyone. The golden temple was later planted with real gold and white marble a total of 160kg of gold is to be used to beautify the golden temple. The gurudwara stands in the middle of Amrit Sarovar literally the man-made pool.
There is a continuous singing of Gurbani kirtan [ hymns] at Sri Hari mandir Saheb from the opening of its portal[doors] to their closing.

Golden Temple is also famous for its langar, langar was started by the 4th Sikh saint guru Ram Das in 1577. it is said that on a normal day, more than 50,000-60,000 people eat langar at this temple. And during religious gatherings, the number may spike up to 100,000. There are no oily dishes in langar the meals are simple and healthy with roti, dal, kheer, curry, and Karah prasad [ halwa] it is offered to all visitors to the Darbar sahib in Gurudwara. Karah Prasad is the main if it is not accepted it may be interpreted by Sikhs as an insult. Some rules in the golden temple we cannot forget: – wash your feet/hands and cover your head properly before entering the temple.
People said that if you take a dip in the Amrit Sarovar with pure heart, faith, and love then your wishes come true, there are 4 doors for entering this temple their people are participating in cleaning activities like cleaning the kitchen, mopping the floors, and safekeeping shoes of worshippers that’s why this temple is clean and hygiene every time.

The Famous Dishes in Punjab you Must Wat That
Amritsari kulcha, Sarso ka saag, Makki di roti, Lassi, Chhole-bhature, Tandoori Chicken, Gobhi-Shalgam- Gajar Pickle, Pinni Amritsari Kulcha could be described as a local variation of the famous naan. The most common drink is Lassi which is generally served in copper and in huge glass-topped with butter to make it rich. It is not included in sweet.
One of the most popular dishes and also my favourite dishes is Chhole Bhature made up of wheat flour and milk rather. It is so tasty and delicious dishes it is served with chole and pickle and pieces of onion these dishes are available in every corner of Punjab.
Pinni(laddu) is the laddus mostly made in the winter season because these laddu ingredients give a lot of heat pinna is made with desi ghee, Wheat Flour, Jaggery, and almonds. Most people of Punjab eat Aloo Paratha for their breakfast. Aloo paratha is served alongside pickle lassi. The people there like oily food more. Like Ghee, milk, Lassi, paneer, etc.
Harvest Festival of Punjab
One of the most famous festivals of Punjab is Lohri it is celebrated on 13 January which is one day before Makar Sankranti. This festival is celebrated as the harvesting season and the end of the winter season this festival shows how to people of Punjab are attached to nature. People gathered together around a bonfire and then started singing and Dancing full of happiness and energy. This festival is considered to be the new beginning of life with love
The celebration of the Baisakhi festival depicts the hard work and also the joy of harvest and shows unity and brotherhood and hard work of farmers and gives respect for them. It is the major festival of Sikhs It was in the year 1869 that GURU GOBIND SINGH the last Sikh guru marked the Sikh as Khalsa (the Pure one) this festival is celebrated in the month of April.
Karwa Chauth is a very important festival for married women for their husbands in Punjab. Married women keep fast for the whole day in the evening women gather and listen to Vrat Katha. After seeing the moon with karwa Chauth Channi then they break their fast. It is a very interesting festival and also unmarried women can celebrate the festival by observing the karwa Chauth fast for their future husbands. On the day of karwa Chauth, women eat Sargi is the pre-dawn meal before sunrise.
The festival of Guru Nanak Gurpurab is one of the most important festivals in the Sikh Calendar. People celebrated the anniversary of a guru’s birth marked and other festivals are Hola Mohalla, Basant Panchami, Bhai Dooj, Chappar Mela etc.
