The CBI conducted raids on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for irregular tender allotment to a private company. The tender was assigned for the development, maintenance, and operation of IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri when LaluYadav was a Railway minister in 2006.
The CBI has registered a case against Lalu Prasad Yadav, his son TejashwiYadav and wife Rabri Devi. TejashwiYadav is the current deputy chief minister of Bihar. Many locations have been raided by CBI including Lalu Prasad’s residence in 12 locations at Patna, Ranchi, investigationPuri, New Delhi andGurgaon. The CentrInvestigationstated that the tender was allotted to Sujata Hotels for the maintenance and development of BNR hotels in Ranchi and Puri.
BesidesLaluYadav’s family members, a few others are also alleged against corruption. P K Goel, former managing director IRCTC, Sujata, wife of Yadav’s intimate Prem Chand gupta, and two directors of a private company are also under suspicion. Gupta is the previous Union corporate affairs minister.
In this matter, MisaBharti and Shailesh Kumar (Prasad’s daughter and son in law) were also questioned. TejPratap (e the leader of Tejashwi) is also not out of doubt.

Laluyadav is an Indian politician who served as the chief minister of Bihar from 1990 to 1997. He was the Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009 in UPA-1 regime under the Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh. He was convicted for his connection with the 1996 fodder scam. He was sentenced for five years imprisonment and Rs 25 lakh fine for this scam. His wife Rabri Devi also served as a chief minister of Bihar from 1997 to 2005 with brief interruptions.
