There are nearly 3295 species of plants and 5721 animal species are found on the beautiful land of Himachal Pradesh. The reason behind such a huge flora fauna found in Himachal are the Tropical forests and the climate found in the state. The climate supports the flora most there. As you come to see that the rainfall is mostly seen at the times when it is needed. 1. Sites near trekking spots:
Pin Valley national park in Spiti Valley (conserve the endangered species named Snow leopard and Siberian Ibex).
Dharangati Sanctuary is situated in Rampur Bushar, Shimla (common animal species found here are Musk, Deer, Goral, and Thar).
Kalatop-Khajjiar sanctuary found at Kalatop-khajjiar, Chamba (The sanctuary is famous for Pheasants, serow, and black bear).
Majathal Sanctuary is situated on the steep and rugged terrain of the Solan District (There is a very large population of endangered species of animals found here such as Cheer Pheasant and gorals, etc).
2. Sites found near the camping areas:
Maharana Pratap Sagar Sanctuary, sanctuary is situated in the Pong area of District Kangra. The sanctuary is known as Pong Dam sanctuary. The sanctuary is famous for the birds and ducks. Some of the birds found in the sanctuary are Gurkhas, plovers, terns, red-necked grebes, etc. The species of duck found there is named Siberian Duck.
Chail Sanctuary is situated in Chail Hill Station. The major species of animals found here are sambar, goral, cheer peasants, and kalijin. You will also be able to find the Barking Deers during dusk and dawn. The sanctuary has a total area coverage of 110 sq km. This is considered one of the biggest wildlife sanctuary in Himachal.
Simbalbara National Park is situated in the Ponta Valley of Sirmour District. The sanctuary shares its border with Haryana as it is on the edge of Himachal Pradesh. You come to see dense sal forests here. The Park was started in the year 1958 as a sanctuary, but with the increase in the area cover and species, the sanctuary was converted to a park. The common species found here are Goral, Sambhar, and Chittal.
3. Sites near safari areas, which you enjoy the most
Renuka Sanctuary, one of the natural sanctuary found in the Sirmour district of Himachal. The sanctuary has well connected to the road facility. The sanctuary also is known as Renuka Reserve Forest. The sanctuary has a forest cover area of 4 sq km and 3 sq km of the extra area considered as buffer area stand outside the sanctuary.
Shri Naina Devi Sanctuary, Located in the Bilaspur district of Himachal. The wildlife is the home to many animal species like Jackals, Leopards, Serow, and many others. The sanctuary has provided all the transport facilities. You will be able to live there in the nearby hotels that surround the sanctuary.
Pin Valley National Park, located in the Spiti valley of Lahaul-Spiti District. The site is also a very good safari spot as it has a well-connected road facility. The place is covered by snow all around.

The Great Himalayan National park:
The National park is located in the Kullu District of Himachal. The park was established in the year 1984 and covers an area of 1174 sq km in total. More than 375 species of Fauna are found in the park from which 31 are mammals, 181 are birds, 3 are reptiles, 9 are amphibians, 11 are annelids, 17 are mollusks, and 127 are insects.
